You know those food or drink, or in this case, Bloody Mary spots you just have to hit?! Crystal Lake Rib House was on my list ever since the debut of their Mega Mary in late February. The Mega Mary is 32 oz. of pure Bloody Mary gold. Served on a platter with a mini Miller Lite on the side, the Mega Mary is the largest Bloody Mary I have ever personally experienced. I think it may be one of the biggest in the world (let’s pretend Jimmy Fallon’s on Late Night doesn’t count).
The Mega Mary is garnished with a full slab of ribs, brats, burger sliders, a half chicken, chicken wings, bacon, salami, big donuts, mini donuts, long john donuts, a bagel, a giant cinnamon roll, mini cinnamon rolls, chocolate muffin, babybel cheese wheels, a hard boiled egg, an array of cheese cubes, mozzarella-prosciutto rolls, brussels sprouts, olives, onion rings, brownies, pickles, and cantaloupe. Yes, freakin’ cantaloupe. This is a Bloody Mary to be shared, by one, two, or even three others. Taste-wise, the Mega Mary is pretty classic. There’s a lot of celery seed, black pepper, and salt in the mix. The Bloody is not acidic nor spicy, though it is tangy. It was full of Kosher salt and crushed ice, which still strikes me as interesting. I am a fan of cubed ice in Bloodies for their slower melt-rate.
The Mega Mary is truly unique and it can serve as a meal for multiple people. If it’s just you, you have enough food to take home for tomorrow’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, and, even, dessert. My advice is to drink as much of the actual Bloody Mary and Miller Lite as you can, then take the food home! At least that’s what I did. The Mega Mary will cost you $59.95.
